The First Freedom

People always talk about the First Freedom. People even think that the First Freedom is Free Speech. Think again. I Quote "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." There you go folks. People say this is a Christian country. Wrong! As most of the Founding Fathers were Freemasons and Deists, should it come as a surprise that the first Freedom guaranteed is the freedom to believe and practice whatever the hell you want? A belief structure I have recently adopted as the best description as to what I believe. Don't know what Deism is? Look it up. In a recent article I read 4 Chris tans were arrested at a Islamic Cultural Festival. Bullshit is what I say. Bullshit on two accounts. The fact that they were arrested for a BS reason, and Bullshit to the fact they were there in the first place. Leave them alone! We have a right to believe what we want to believe, we don't need others shoving their beliefs down our throat. Do the Muslims go door to door and speak about the wonders of Allah? No, so why the hell are we doing it? If someone wants to know about Christianity they will ask. Other then that its a colossal waste of time and gives people like me a bad name! It makes me sick to think that I fell into the same category as alot of these close-minded, bible-thumping, believe-what-I-believe-or-burn-in-hell people. I'm not having a crisis of Faith, I'm having a crisis of Faith in Religion. One I don't think will ever be fixed. And I'm not sure I want it to.

Ramblings of a Nihilistic Misanthrope

Could people just shut up about this whole Islamic Center at Ground Zero, please? For whats left of my sanity? This country was founded on religious freedom, in fact it is the first right in the Constitution. The people that want to build this center had nothing to do with 9/11. The only connection is the same beliefs but these people don't share the extreme beliefs as the people who caused the 9/11 attacks. So what is the problem? Call me extreme if you want but this whole debate is petty, frivolous, and pointless. And then there is Pastor Terry Jones, who has said he plans to hold a burning of Qurans on 9/11. With those simple words he has set back Christianity and Humanity at least 20 or 30 years. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't remember the Bible teaching "Love your fellow man as long as he believes the same thing you do, looks the way you do, speaks the way you do". I always thought it was "Love your fellow man" period. Who are we to judge another man? Christians are just as guilty as other religions. So let me say something personal to people like Terry Jones, as well as his cohorts. You are just as extreme as the people who were behind the attacks on 9/11. You let your religious hatred blind the fact that they are just as human as you are. If you refuse to show respect to other religions by burning their sacred text mabye I should show disrespect to yours by burning yours. Hate me if you wish. Yell and threaten me if you want. It matters little to me.

Who (or What) is Serotonin?

You may ask yourself who or what Serotonin is? Serotonin isn't just a chemical made by your brain. To quote Arn Anderson (kinda) "Its a theory, its a theme, its an idea, its a state of being, its a state of mind" Serotonin is the belief that we do something dangerous, something that no one else does. We think, we use our brains. Others see nothing, we see information. Others see fear, we see opportunity. Others see a blank canvas, we see potential. We do care, we can help. But you have to make a sacrifice. One of a mental kind. You have to see life for what it really is. No about who is winning American Idol or when Lady Gaga's next concert it. You have to see the world as it is. People keeping their eyes on things that don't matter. Politicians telling us what they think is right for us because we think that we had anything to do with them getting into their office. Are you willing to sacrifice the sins of popular culture? If you can you will be transformed into something beautiful. If you wish to not make the sacrifice then you must be content to be useless. And useless is what you will remain. Whether you want to, or not.

Padre Nuestros

(Before you start reading this scene pull up this Video and listen to it while reading this. Its called Padre Nuestros by a group called E Nomine. There is also a German version "Vater Unser" and an English Version "Our Father". Any of those will work, I just prefer Padre Nuestros)

Gabriel knelt before the shrine, his head bowed and his hands clasped in prayer. He knelt for what seemed like hours, locked in prayer. He crossed himself and stood up. Father Michael walked up to him. "I wish you would reconsider this, my son. Going along is suicide." He said. "I wish there was another way, Father, but if the information we have is true then this has to be stopped before Grant gets a chance to activate them." Gabriel said. "Well good luck. Come back home." Father Michael said as he crossed Gabriel. "I will, Father." Gabriel said as he climbed the clock tower to his room. He open his trunk at the foot of his bed and started pulling out different weapons and a set of clothes. He changed into a tight fighting black pair of jeans and a black long sleeve shirt. He slipped into a pair of boots and laced them up. He fitted a few holsters on his body, one on each leg, four on his belt and a shoulder harness. He ran a belt across his chest and adjusted everything to make sure it would fit but not impede his movements. He heard footsteps coming toward him. A familiar figure blocked the doorway. "There is no convincing you that this is a bad idea huh?" A female voice said. Gabriel shook his head, not looking up as he started to pull multiple guns from the trunk. "No, there isn't. Father Michael already tried and I'm telling you the same thing I told him. We have to stop Grant now before he can activate the Horsemen. The 5 of them as they were before were tough, now will be even worse." Gabriel said as he checked his guns. He had multiple pistols of different calibers from a pair of 9mms, 4 .357s and a .44 caliber. He slipped magazines into them and cocked them. He then placed the 9 mms into his thigh holsters. The 4 .357s into his belt holsters and the .44 into his shoulder holster. He pulled out a Dragunov sniper rifle and checked the sighting on it before slipping a magazine into it and loading it. He slung in across his back. He dug a bit more through his trunk and pulled out a sword. A hand covered his on the sword. He looked up. "Gabriel, please. I know I can't convince you, so I'm not going to bother. But just hear me out." Sarah said. She leaned in and gave him a kiss on his lips. "Be careful out there please? I don't care what happens, just come back, Okay? I don't want to lose you." She said. Gabriel straightened up and wrapped his arms around her, holding her head to his chest. "I will, Sarah. I'll come back. I promise." He took her chin and tilted her head up to meet his. He leaned in and returned the kiss to her. He let her go and took the sword and sheathed it on his back. He grab ed a headset with a monocle and slipped it over his right eye. He tiled the monocle out of the way since he wouldn't need it right now. Grabbing Sarah's hand he walked back down into the main room of the church. Ratt was sitting in one of the pews, waiting for Gabriel. "Gabe, there is one thing." Ratt said standing up. "Not you too, Ratt." Gabriel said. "What? All I was going to say is I heard word that the next guard shift is in one hour so we need to get going." Ratt said. "Wait, Gabriel. Take this." Sarah had taken the cross pendant from around her neck. She slipped it around Gabriel's neck and tucked inside his shirt. She gave him a quick kiss. "Good luck tonight." She said. He nodded as they all walked outside the church. Ratt had a van parked out front. "Be Careful, my son." Father Michael said. "I will, Father" Gabriel said as he opened the back of the van and climbed in. Ratt got into the van and they drove off out into the night, toward the city.

Tell me what you think of this so far. I'm open to any and all comments

4. You are Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, or James Dobson or are worshipers of them

Now with that out of the way the people that remain can truly understand what I try to say or the ideas I have.

Now the introduction for those of you who want to know what I am about.

My name is Zane. I just turned 26 and live in the fantastic city of Denver CO. I have live in Colorado my entire life but just recently made my escape from the Valley of Sorrows (aka Grand Junction) back to the Mile High. I enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction books, I even am writing my own series. I enjoy video games and plain just hanging out with friends. Music is a very big thing for me but if you were to ask me about the latest Taylor Swift video I would struggle to refrain from smacking you. My goals in life are to go skydiving, go on a cruise, found my nightclub, start my photography studio, and get my pilots licence. I have done Martial Arts for the better part of my life until a knee injury forced me to stop but I hope to continue soon. I hope this may give some insight but if it doesn't or just leaves you with more questions you can feel free to ask me. Just don't be surprised if sarcasm arises.
